You can bet that the pictures of the ruins in Gaza have now been etched into the minds and memories of generations of Muslims around the world, some of whom are or will be nuclear scientists. Attaching such a device to a drone that is undetectable on radar makes this prospect frightening. For what if such devices were attached to a number of drones that are then flown into Israel with the nuclear devices detonated over Israeli cities ? Israeli nuclear retaliation against whomever it thinks - rightly or wrongly -sponsored such an attack would follow, which in turn would cause an even harsher retaliation that would destroy the entire region and its people. Along with propelling a large cloud of radioactive fallout which then would encircle the world and inevitably drop on agricultural lands, making them incapable of producing crops safe to consume thereafter.
This is what happens in a world that has developed weapons that can create massive destruction, and one in which leaders of countries give little thought to the downstream consequences of their present actions. Israel's collective punishment of the citizens of Gaza and the resultant destruction of property have set the stage for this scenario to occur. When it will occur is a matter of scientific discovery and weapons engineering, but recent history has shown that advances in weaponry occur much faster than anyone previously figured.
Worse yet, I cannot imagine a scenario that would reverse this doomsday outcome from happening. The Israelis would have to apologize for what they have done in these destructive bombings, and then remove the rubble and rebuild the structures, which the Israelis will not do. They feel completely justified in their actions in avenging the murder of 1200 of their citizens, even if it means a nuclear armageddon as the result. And besides, their overall objective for Gaza is to ethnically cleanse the region of Palestinians, so why would they take any actions to keep those residents living there ?
Perhaps if the world community forced Israel to make amends for its crimes of the last several weeks against the innocent non-combatant Palestinian civilians who they have killed or displaced, Israel would do what is necessary to prevent their future annihilation and the resultant effects of the methods employed to cause that demise. But as we have seen from the UN Security Council this week, there remain enough Western countries who for whatever reasons or bribes will approve of whatever Israel does for the world community to have any influence to avert the disaster that inevitably will be visited upon Israel in response for their actions in Gaza.
It is shocking to me that with the stakes as high as they are - the destruction of humanity - the world powers that could avert the coming disaster are working to cause it rather than to prevent it. How can world leaders be so blind as to the risks they are allowing to fester, especially in a world that has developed the weaponry that can make armageddon possible ? This is not the time to be arguing over who did what to whom first, not when the survival of all humanity can be dictated by the leaders of a country that represents but 10 million of the world's eight billion people. The clock is now ticking, the future of the world as we know it is at stake, and saner minds must step forward to turn the clock back by restoring the primacy of international law on the situation in Gaza and forcing an equitable resolution of these hostilities.
